How does Reiki work?
The Japanese word Reiki is split into two, ie Rei which means Universal and Ki meaning Life Force. The practitioner has been initiated to channel this energy by a fully qualified, registered Reiki Master. She channels the energy through her body and out of her hands to the patient.

How long does a treatment last?
It generally lasts around one hour and leaves the person feeling relaxed and calm

How many treatments will I need?
There is no set answer. Much depends on the nature of the problem. Chronic conditions will probably require several treatments. When Reiki is adminstered three or more consecutive days in succession, it has an accumulating effect on the endocrine glands and kick-starts the healing process.

Can children receive Reiki?
Yes, children's treatments though, are generally shorter than adult treatments. If they are unable to lie still for a long time, then they can sit on the practitioner's or Mum's lap.

What if I'm pregnant?
Reiki can relieve the tension felt when carrying additional weight and the baby in the womb benefits also.

What if I'm dying?
Since Reiki is a spiritual energy, it can help people to re-connect to their spiritual selves. It can also help to ease the pain and fear of dying and make the transition period much easier.

Can anyone do Reiki?
